If the Brain is not behaving as expected, review the following list of troubleshooting scenarios:
- The Brain is on,
- The LED is green but it is not responsive to button presses.
- Try turning the Brain Off/On manually.
- The LED is red and it is not responsive to button presses.
- Try charging the Robot Battery and then restarting the Brain with a fully charged Robot Battery.

- “Update Required” is displayed on the Brain’s LCD screen.

- An error message is displayed on the Brain’s LCD screen.
- The LED is green but it is not responsive to button presses.
- The Brain will not power on.
- The Robot Battery might need to be charged.

- Review How to Read Indicator Lights on the VEX IQ Battery Charger.
- The Robot Battery might not be fully seated in the Brain.
- Check that there is no obstruction between the Robot Battery and the Brain.

- The Brain is on and the LED is green.
- The Brain has a charged Robot Battery and is ready for use.
- No further troubleshooting is required.
