Installing or Removing the VEX IQ Brain Battery – VEX Library

Before installing, you should have a charged VEX IQ Battery.

Note: Images in this article show a (1st generation) Brain, follow the same steps for installing a Battery into a (2nd generation) Brain.

Install the Battery

Diagram shows a Battery being connected to an IQ Brain. An arrow indicates that the Battery should be slid into the charging port on the bottom of the Brain. The Battery is oriented with its latch facing away from the Brain. IQ Brain with a connected Battery.

Slide the Battery into the VEX IQ Brain and listen for a click that indicates the Battery has been inserted correctly and completely.

Remove the Battery

Diagram shows the two steps to remove the Robot Battery from the Brain. The first step has an arrow pointing at the Battery's latch to indicate that it must be pressed down. The second step shows the Battery sliding out from the Brain.

Squeeze the latch at the end of the Battery and pull it out of the Brain.

NOTE: Pushing on the Battery from the other end helps in removing it.

NOTE: The Battery should always be removed from the Brain if it is going to be stored for longer than two weeks.
