Wirelessly Connecting a VEX IQ (1st gen) Brain to an iPad / Android Tablet in VEXcode IQ

To connect your VEX IQ (1st gen) Brain to an iPad or Android tablet, ensure you have:

 

IQ Brain (1st gen) with the Brain's Check button highlighted.

Press the Check button on the Brain to turn it on.

Brain screen is shown in the Programs menu. An icon on the bottom of the screen indicates that the X button can be pressed to switch to the Settings menu and this icon is highlighted.

Press the X button on the Brain to to go to the Settings menu.

Press the Check button to select System Info.

Brain screen is shown in the System Info menu. This menu lists three values: Voltage, Radio Data, and ID. The ID value is highlighted and in this example it reads 33810.

Remember the Brain ID number that you will use to connect the Brain to the iPad / Android Tablet.

Note: Radio Data is always on by default, and does not need to be turned on or off in Settings.

In VEXcode IQ, open the Devices window to confirm that the 1st gen Brain is selected.

Select 1st gen if it is not already selected.

Select Connect to IQ (1st gen) in the Brain menu.

Use the number keypad to enter in your Brain's ID number.

Select Submit.

See that the Brain is connected when the Brain icon turns green.
