Installing VEXcode VR on Windows

VEXcode VR is available offline only for users with an active VEXcode VR Enhanced or VEXcode VR Premium license. To learn how to activate your VEXcode VR Enhanced or VEXcode VR Premium license, go here.


Download the Installer

Go to the VR Admin System, located at vradmin.vex.com.

Note: If you're not logged into your VEX account, you'll be prompted to sign in.

Select Offline from the navigation bar on the left.

Select the Download for Windows button.


Install VEXcode VR

Select the VEXcode VR Installer icon to begin installation.

The End User License Agreement will appear. Once you have read through the EULA, select Agree.

Choose whether it will be installed only for the current user, or for all users on the computer. Once chosen, select Install.

Wait for the installation to complete, then select Finish.

Launch VEXcode VR using the desktop shortcut.


Log In with Your Class Code

On first launching VEXcode VR, you'll be asked to enter your VR Class Code. Type the code in and select Submit.

A VEXcode VR interface shows a coding environment. On the left side, a vertical toolbar with color-coded categories like Drivetrain, Magnet, Switch, Looks, Events, Control, Sensing, Operators, and Variables is visible. Blue blocks related to drivetrain actions, such as driving forward and turning right, are listed. On the right side, the coding workspace contains a yellow block labeled when started. At the top, a blue bar includes options for File, Tools, saving, and interacting with the project. At the bottom, an error section displays no current errors or warnings.
