Connecting an IQ (2nd gen) Brain to a Computer via USB

It takes just a few steps to connect a VEX IQ Brain to App-Based VEXcode IQ on your Windows, Mac, or Chromebook computer. First, you will need to be sure you have all the components.

You will need the following:

  • A USB-C cable (either USB-C to USB-C, or USB-C to USB-A, depending on your device)
  • An IQ (2nd gen) Brain
  • An IQ Battery
  • A Windows, Mac, or Chromebook Computer

After you have gathered your components, complete the following:

Insert the battery into the IQ Brain.

Turn on the IQ Brain by pressing the checkmark button.

Launch app-based VEXcode IQ

A successful connection is confirmed when the Brain Status Icon in the Toolbar is green.
