Linking and Unlinking Two VEX AIM Coding Robots

The VEX AIM Coding Robot can be linked with another VEX AIM Coding Robot for direct robot-to-robot communication. In this article, you’ll learn how to link one robot to another.

Connection Steps

The back of the robot with the power button called out. The button is on the back of the robot beneath the port for a USB-C cable.

Turn on both robots by pressing the power button on the rear of each robot.

Navigate to Settings on both robots' screens, and tap to select it.

Navigate to Link AIM on both robots' screens, and tap to select it.

When linking, make sure both robots are on this screen and within Bluetooth range of each other.

Note: When linking, a robot will try to connect with the closest robot to it. Be mindful of this if you are linking more than one pair of robots at the same time.

Once connected, both robots will be shown in green.

Once connected, the indicator icon on the top-left corner of the screen will confirm the connection. 

Note: Linked robots will remain linked even after they are powered off. They will re-establish the link upon turning back on.

Press the the info icon to see the name of the robot your robot is linked to. 

Unlink Steps

The Setting icon in the robot screen menu.

Navigate to Settings on both of the robot's screens, and tap to select it.

Unlink AIM icon on the robot screen.

Navigate to Unlink AIM on both robots' screens, and tap to select it.

It will ask you to Confirm Unlink. Tap to select it.

Once unlinked, the button will change to Link AIM.
