Symbols and Icons on VEX AIM

The screen of the VEX AIM Coding Robot offers status indications and uses icons to enable you to navigate through different menu options. This article will guide you through what each of the different icons and symbols indicates, to help you as you get started with your robot.

Battery Status

The Battery icon in the upper right corner shows the current status of the robot's battery. 

Three images of the battery icon are shown, indicating the different battery levels. On top is a green full battery icon, in the center is a yellow half full battery icon, and on the bottom is a red low battery icon.

The battery level can be determined from the color of the icon: 

  • Green - Full battery
  • Yellow - Partial battery
  • Red - Low battery

A flashing battery icon indicates that the robot is currently charging.

Controller Status

When a One Stick Controller is currently linked to the robot, the Controller icon will appear in the upper left corner of the screen.

Connection Status

The Bluetooth connection status is indicated with a Bluetooth icon in the upper left corner of the screen. A solid green icon indicates an active Bluetooth connection.

A flashing gray icon indicates that the robot is not currently Bluetooth connected.

The Radio status is indicated with an icon for both the Station and Access Point as well. A solid icon indicates an active connection, and a flashing icon indicates that the robot is not currently connected.

Info Icon

Selecting the Info icon at the bottom of the screen will open the robot information.

Navigation Icons

The Info for the AIM Robot is shown on the screen, and highlighted on the center bottom is an arrow curving backwards in a gray button, indicating what to select to back out of this screen.

Use the gray return arrow to exit the the current screen.

The AIM Robot's sound setting is shown on the screen, with a green button with a checkmark in it highlighted at the center bottom of the screen, indicating what to select to choose this setting.

Use the green check to select the current option within a menu.

Main Menu Icons

Selecting the Drive icon will open the built-in Drive mode, so you can drive your robot with a linked controller. View this article to learn more about using the Drive mode.

Selecting the Settings icon will open the robot's Settings menu. View this article to learn about the robot's Settings.

Selecting the Button Coding icon will open Button Coding, so you can code the robot with buttons on the robot's screen.
