Connecting with App-based VEXcode GO on Chromebook

Google has announced the discontinuation of support for Chrome Apps on Chromebooks starting in January 2025. As a result, Chrome Apps, including the VEXcode GO App, will no longer be visible in the Chrome Web Store or functional after that date. While the VEXcode GO App will remain available until this change takes effect, we encourage users to transition to the Web-based version of VEXcode GO well in advance. It takes just a few steps to connect a GO Brain to app-based VEXcode GO on your Chromebook.

Connect the GO Brain to the Battery.

Turn on the GO Brain by pressing the button in the center.

Launch app-based VEXcode GO.

Open VEXcode GO and select the Brain icon in the Toolbar.

Select Connect.

A list of available GO Brains will appear. Select the name of the Brain you want to pair.

Once a Brain is chosen, select the Pair button.

The Brain icon will turn orange and a Connecting to: message will appear while the Brain is connecting.

Once the VEX GO Brain is connected the Brain icon will turn green. The message in the window will say Connected to: and list the name of the VEX GO Brain that is connected.


To Disconnect a VEX GO Brain from App-based VEXcode GO

Select ‘Disconnect’ to disconnect your GO Brain from VEXcode GO.
