Loading and Saving a VEXcode VR Project on an iPad

A project can be loaded and saved in VEXcode VR in a few ways.


Load an Existing Project

Select Load from your device from the File menu

Load an existing project by selecting “Load From Your Device” from the File menu.

Select Browse from the menu

Select “Browse.”

Downloads folder

Use the iPad interface to navigate and open your existing project. VEXcode VR will only allow you to open files with a .vrblocks file extension.


Open an Example Project

Open an example project by selecting “Open Examples” from the File menu.


Rename a Project

Project name

To rename a project, select the project name box.

Enter the project name, and select “Rename.”


Save Using the File Menu

Save to device

Open the File menu and select “Save To Your Device.”

iPad download

A notification will appear and confirm that you wish to download your Project. Select "Download" to confirm.

In the toolbar on Safari, a download icon will appear when your project has successfully downloaded.

Tap the Download icon to see which projects have been downloaded. On the iPad, your project will default to saving in the Downloads folder on the iCloud Drive.

To find your download files, close Safari and open the "Files" app on your iPad.

Inside "Files," you can see your Downloads folder. Select the Downloads folder to open it.

Inside, you'll find files with a .vrblocks extension. These are your saved VEXcode VR projects files.


Common Issues when Loading/Saving

A common issue when using VEXcode Project files (.vrblocks) is trying to select the .vrblocks file to be opened directly by the operating system.

If you try to open a VEXcode Project file (.vrblocks) by tapping it, it will show the following error:
