Loading and Saving a VEXcode VR Project on an Android

A project can be loaded and saved in VEXcode VR in a few ways.

Note: Due to browser limitations, different web browsers will display varying options for saving and loading. Be sure to follow the instructions specific to your browser. Don't see your browser listed? Make sure your browser supports VEXcode VR here.


Load an Existing Project

Open an existing project by selecting Load From Your Device from the File menu.

If you have not already given permissions to your web browser to access files on your device, you may be prompted to grant those permissions.

Select ALLOW to grant those permissions.

Select Files.

Use the Android interface to navigate and open your existing project. VEXcode VR will only allow you to open files with a .vrblocks file extension.

Open an Example Project

Open an example project by selecting Open Examples from the File menu.

Rename a Project

To rename a project, select the Project Name window.

Select the text field to change the name of the project. You will only be able to select Save once the project's name is changed.

Select Save to rename the project.

Once saved, the name of project will be changed to its new name.

Important: Autosave is not supported on mobile devices. You must manually save your project to retain any name changes.


Save Using the File Menu

Open the File menu and select Save To Your Device.

If you have not already given permissions to your internet browser to download files on your device, you may be prompted to grant those permissions. Select Continue.

The Download notification will appear and let you know your project has been saved in the Android device’s Downloads folder.

Select Open to go directly to your device's Downloads folder.

In the Downloads folder, you'll see a file with a .vrblocks extension. This means your project has been successfully saved.

Important: Autosave is not supported on mobile devices. You must manually save your project to retain any changes.

Microsoft Edge

Save VEXcode VR project to Android device

Open the File menu and select Save To Your Device.

When prompted to save the project, select Download.

The Download notification will appear and let you know your project has been saved.

Select Details to see where your project has been saved.

You'll see a file with a .vrblocks extension. This means your project has been successfully saved.

Common Issue when Loading/Saving

A common issue when using VEXcode Project files (.vrblocks) is trying to select the .vrblocks file to be opened directly by the operating system.

If you try to open a VEXcode Project file (.vrblocks) by tapping it, it will show this error message.
