Downloading and Running a VEX IQ Blocks Project

Downloading and running a project with VEXcode IQ is as easy as four steps.

First, save the project (MacOS, Windows, ChromeOS, iPad, Android).

Note: You can choose which slot on the Brain your project is downloaded to, but it is not required. To learn more about downloading a project to a selected slot on the Brain, see this article.

Next, connect the Brain and check that its icon is green and the Download and other icons are white.

Then, select Download to download the project to the Brain’s selected slot.

Note: The Download, Run, and Stop icons will be disabled until the download is complete.

Finally, run your project. You can select Run from the Toolbar in VEXcode IQ, or using the buttons on the Brain. View this article to learn more about running a program from the Brain.

Your project will show in the Programs menu on the Brain screen. A (1st generation) Brain is pictured on the left, and a (2nd generation) screen is pictured on the right.
