Connecting to the Controller with Web-based VEXcode EXP - Windows

It takes just a few steps to connect a VEX EXP Controller to Web-based VEXcode EXP on a Windows device.

How To Connect a VEX EXP Controller from Web-based VEXcode EXP on a Windows device

Turn on the Controller by pressing the power button on the Controller until the power indicator light turns green.

Connect the EXP Controller to your Windows device, using the USB-C cable.

Note: Your EXP Controller must remain plugged into your Windows device throughout the connection process.

Launch web-based VEXcode EXP by navigating to codeexp.vex.com.

Select the Controller icon in the Toolbar.

Select ‘Connect.’

A text box will appear and explain that you should choose the Controller labeled 'Communications Port'. Select 'Continue' on the text box to open the connection window.

Select the EXP Controller labeled 'Communications Port', from the list of Controllers available.

Select the ‘Connect’ button, once you have chosen the 'Communications Port' EXP Controller ID.

Once the EXP Controller is successfully connected the Controller icon will turn green.

If the connection is unsuccessful, another text box will appear prompt you to select the Controller that is not currently paired.


How To Disconnect a VEX EXP Controller from Web-based VEXcode EXP on a Windows device

To disconnect your device from an EXP Controller, unplug the USB-C cable from your Windows device or the EXP Controller.

You can also disconnect an EXP Controller from web-based VEXcode EXP by turning the Controller off.

Turn the Controller off by holding the power button until the indicator light on the Controller turns off.
