Connecting with Web-based VEXcode V5 - Chromebook

It takes just a few steps to connect a VEX V5 Brain to Web-based VEXcode V5 on Chromebook.

How To Connect a VEX V5 Brain from Web-based VEXcode V5 on a Chromebook

Be sure the V5 Battery is charged and is connected to the V5 Brain.

Turn on the Brain by pressing the Power button on the Brain.

Connect the V5 Brain to your Chromebook, using the Micro-USB cable.

Note: Your V5 Brain must remain plugged into your Chromebook throughout the connection process.

Launch web-based VEXcode V5 by navigating to codev5.vex.com

Select the Brain icon in the Toolbar.

Select ‘Connect'.

A text box will appear and explain that you should choose the Brain that has lowest ID number. Select 'Continue' on the text box to open the connection window.

Select the V5 Brain with the lowest ID number from the list of Brains available.

Select the ‘Connect’ button, once you have chosen the lowest numbered V5 Brain ID.

Once the V5 Brain is successfully connected the Brain icon will turn green.

If the connection was unsuccessful, another text box will appear and prompt you to select the Brain with the different ID number.


To Disconnect a VEX V5 Brain from Web-based VEXcode V5 on Chromebook

To disconnect your device from an V5 Brain, unplug the Micro-USB cable from your Chromebook or the V5 Brain.

You can also disconnect an V5 Brain from web-based VEXcode V5 by turning the Brain off.

Turn the Brain off by holding the Power button until the screen on the Brain goes black.
