Connecting with Web-based VEXcode V5 - Windows

It takes just a few steps to connect a VEX V5 Brain to Web-based VEXcode V5 on a Windows device.

How To Connect a VEX V5 Brain from Web-based VEXcode V5 on a Windows device

V5 Brain is shown connected to a V5 Battery and the Brain's Power button is highlighted.

Be sure the V5 Battery is charged and is connected to the V5 Brain.

Turn on the Brain by pressing the Power button on the Brain.

Brain that is connected to both a laptop computer using a Micro-USB cable and a V5 Battery using a V5 Battery Cable.

Connect the V5 Brain to your Windows device, using the Micro-USB cable.

Note: Your V5 Brain must remain plugged into your Windows device throughout the connection process.

Launch web-based VEXcode V5 by navigating to codev5.vex.com.

Select the Brain icon in the Toolbar.

Select ‘Connect.’

Please select the V5 Brain labeled Communications Port and press Connect on the connection prompt. There is a link for More Information below. A text box will appear and explain that you should choose the Brain labeled 'Communications Port'. Select 'Continue' on the text box to open the connection window.

Select the V5 Brain labeled 'Communications Port', from the list of Brains available.

Select the ‘Connect’ button, once you have chosen the 'Communications Port' V5 Brain ID.

Once the V5 Brain is successfully connected the Brain icon will turn green.

If the connection is unsuccessful, another text box will appear prompt you to select the Brain that is not currently paired.


How To Disconnect a VEX V5 Brain from Web-based VEXcode V5 on a Windows device

Brain that is connected to both a laptop computer using a Micro-USB cable and a V5 Battery using a V5 Battery Cable.

To disconnect your device from an V5 Brain, unplug the Micro-USB cable from your Windows device or the V5 Brain.

V5 Brain is shown connected to a V5 Battery and the Brain's Power button is highlighted.

You can also disconnect an V5 Brain from web-based VEXcode V5 by turning the Brain off.

Turn the Brain off by holding the Power button until the screen on the Brain goes black.
