Get Started with an EXP Classroom Bundle – VEX Library

When you get your VEX EXP Classroom Bundle, there are a few things you can do to get yourself organized and started. This article will cover the basics of unpacking your Classroom Bundle and getting ready to use VEX EXP with your students.

Note: All of the resources in this article are based on a Small Classroom Bundle. If you ordered a Classroom Bundle, you will receive the equivalent of two Small Classroom Bundles. If you ordered a Large Classroom Bundle, you will receive the equivalent of three Small Classroom Bundles.

This article reviews all of the pieces in your VEX EXP Small Classroom Bundle and where you can find them.

Part: This is the name of the part.

Location: This is where you can find the parts in your Classroom Bundle.
Helpful Hints: These are provided in the Location column. These hints provide extra context or information on packaging, identifying part numbers, or tips for additional organization.

EXP Education Kits - Structure Bin	5	Helpful Hint: Label each bin so that the Structure bin and the Electronics bin remain paired together as you distribute kits in the classroom. Note that the structural metal will come in a separate box and will need to be placed inside the red Structure bin when unpacking.
EXP Education Kits - Electronics Bin	5	Helpful Hint: Label each bin so that the Structure bin and the Electronics bin remain paired together as you distribute kits in the classroom. Note that the electronics will come in a separate box and will need to be placed inside the red Electronics bin when unpacking.
Field Tiles	16	These will be located in the red Carrying Case.
Field Walls	16	These will be located in the red Carrying Case.
Buckyballs	12	These will be located in the red Carrying Case. Helpful Hint: You will receive 6 Buckyballs of each color: red and blue.
Rings	6	These will be located in the red Carrying Case. Helpful Hint: You will receive 2 Rings of each color: red, green, and blue.
Extra Tools	5	These will be located in the red Carrying Case. Remember to check the zipper pockets while unpacking the case. Helpful Hint: With two students per kit and the extra tools, there are enough for each student to have a tool to use while building.
Extra USB Cables	5	These will be located in the red Carrying Case. Remember to check the zipper pockets while unpacking the case. Helpful Hint: Keep the extra USB cables with the Classroom Chargers so the USB cables in the Electronics Bin can be used for connecting to VEXcode EXP.
Classroom Chargers	2	These will be located in the red Carrying Case. Remember to check the zipper pockets while unpacking the case. Helpful Hint: There are 5 USB ports between the two chargers, so you can charge 5 EXP Brains or 5 EXP Controllers with one outlet. Keep the extra USB cables with the Classroom Charger so the USB cables in the Electronics Bin can be used for connecting to VEXcode EXP.
Extra Screws 0.375" 1.0" 1.5" 0.25" Locking	1 Jewel Case with 160 screws	All extra jewel cases will be located in the red Carrying Case underneath the Buckyballs and Rings. Helpful Hint: Each set of extra parts will be contained in a small jewel case. Remove these and keep them in a teacher-only area to ensure your extra parts are not mixed into existing EXP Kits.
Extra Nuts and Washers	1 Jewel Case with 200 Nuts and 100 Washers	All extra jewel cases will be located in the red Carrying Case underneath the Buckyballs and Rings. Helpful Hint: Each set of extra parts will be contained in a small jewel case. Remove these and keep them in a teacher-only area to ensure your extra parts are not mixed into existing EXP Kits.
Extra High Strength Shaft Adapters Square Bore Round Bore	1 Jewel Case with 30 High Strength Shaft Adaptors	All extra jewel cases will be located in the red Carrying Case underneath the Buckyballs and Rings. Helpful Hint: Each set of extra parts will be contained in a small jewel case. Remove these and keep them in a teacher-only area to ensure your extra parts are not mixed into existing EXP Kits.
Extra Rubber Shaft Collars	1 Jewel Case with 50 Rubber Shaft Collars	All extra jewel cases will be located in the red Carrying Case underneath the Buckyballs and Rings. Helpful Hint: Each set of extra parts will be contained in a small jewel case. Remove these and keep them in a teacher-only area to ensure your extra parts are not mixed into existing EXP Kits.
Extra Hex Nut Retainers 4 Post 1 Post	1 Jewel Case with 30 Hex Nut Retainers	All extra jewel cases will be located in the red Carrying Case underneath the Buckyballs and Rings. Helpful Hint: Each set of extra parts will be contained in a small jewel case. Remove these and keep them in a teacher-only area to ensure your extra parts are not mixed into existing EXP Kits.
Extra Bearings 1 Post Standoff Retainer with Bearing Flat Shaft Collar Retainer with Bearing Flat Low Profile Bearing Flat	1 Jewel Case with 35 Bearings	All extra jewel cases will be located in the red Carrying Case underneath the Buckyballs and Rings. Helpful Hint: Each set of extra parts will be contained in a small jewel case. Remove these and keep them in a teacher-only area to ensure your extra parts are not mixed into existing EXP Kits.
Carrying Case for Field Tiles, Walls, and Game Elements	1	This Carrying Case will contain all of the extra parts, the parts poster, and game elements of your EXP Classroom Bundle.
