One of the features of VEX Professional Development Plus (PD+) is the ability to attend Live Sessions with VEX experts. These thematic, hour-long, expert led sessions offer insights, inspirations, and practical takeaways about teaching with VEX. Live Sessions are recurring, but content is standalone – so you can attend any or all sessions in the Series. To learn more about PD+ Live Sessions, see this article.
You will need to have an active subscription to PD+ to enroll in a Live Session. For more information on activating or obtaining a PD+ subscription, see this article.
This article will walk you through the steps to enroll in a Live Session.
First, log into PD+ by going to pd.vex.com and select “Login.”
Login using your VEX Account.
Select the Live Courses icon from your PD+ Dashboard.
You will now be able to select from the Live Sessions currently being offered. Each Live Session tile shows a description of the session topic, the platforms it is designed for, and when the next session in the series occurs (with a link to additional dates in the series).
Note: You do not need to attend every session in the Series in order to be a part of the Live Session. Enrolling in a Series gets you access to all sessions during the year, to make it easier for you to attend each session.
To enroll in a Live Session, select the 'Enroll in Series' button on the Session Tile. You will see a 'Registered successfully' banner appear at the top of the page, and the 'Enroll in Series' button will now show 'Already Registered'.
After you have enrolled for a Live Session Series, you will receive a confirmation email from VEX Robotics with schedule details and information to access the Zoom link for the session.
You will also receive periodic emailed updates and reminders about the Live Session from VEX Robotics.
Each Live Session has a PD+ Community Discussion associated with it. Select the 'Community Discussion' button on the Session Tile to go directly to the thread for that Live Session. You are encouraged to engage often with other Live Session participants, and the Session hosts through that Community thread.
This is where you will find information about session content, and where you can post ideas or questions that you would like to see answered in a Live Session.
