Wirelessly Connecting an IQ (2nd gen) Brain to VEXcode IQ

To run projects on your VEX IQ robot, you'll first need to connect the VEX IQ (2nd generation) Brain to VEXcode IQ. Below are the steps for connecting and disconnecting the Brain via a Bluetooth connection.

Before beginning, make sure that you know the name of your Brain. For help naming your Brain, see this article.

Connecting to a Brain

Insert the battery into the IQ Brain.

Open VEXcode IQ. 

Both web-based and app-based VEXcode IQ can be used when connecting to a Brain via Bluetooth.

Select the Brain icon in the upper right corner of the Toolbar.

Select Connect via Bluetooth from the menu.

App-Based VEXcode IQ

A window will open showing the available Brains. This will vary depending on the version of VEXcode IQ you are using. Select your Brain.

App-Based VEXcode IQ

Then, select Connect or Pair.

If this is the first time you have connected the Brain to this device, a pop-up will appear in VEXcode IQ. This will prompt you to input a code from your Brain's screen.

The 4-digit code will appear on the Brain screen. Note that this will be specific to your Brain. The image shown here is an example of a 4-digit code.

Once you have input the code, select the Submit button.

Once connected, the Brain icon in the Toolbar will now appear green. Now, when the Brain icon is selected, the Bluetooth Connection option will read Connected


Disconnecting a VEX IQ Brain

Select the Disconnect Bluetooth button in the Brain menu to disconnect the Brain from VEXcode IQ.
