Updating the VEX GO Brain's Firmware – VEX Library

The firmware on one or multiple GO Brains can be updated at a time using VEXcode or the VEX Classroom App.

Update Firmware in VEXcode

Navigate to code.vex.com and connect your GO Brain to VEXcode.

When using an iPad or Android device, VEX GO will automatically update when the GO Brain is connected to VEXcode.

A GO Brain that is updating will blink green and red while it is updating. It will return to solid green once the update is complete. This process is shown in this video.

Note: The update length has been shortened for the animation. An actual firmware update may take up to 2 minutes.

Update Firmware Using VEX the Classroom App

Navigate to your device’s app store and search for VEX Classroom to download the app if you have not done so already.

Note: The VEX Classroom App is available on the following platforms:

Apple App Store - iPads, iPhones, iPod Touches
Google Play Store - Android phones and tablets
Amazon Appstore - Amazon Fire tablets

Scan for VEX Devices button in the VEX Classroom App.

Select Scan for VEX Devices in the VEX Classroom app.

Update All button in the VEX Classroom App.

Select Update All to update all detected GO Brains' firmware.

A progress bar will appear to show the progress of the update. All other options will remain unavailable until the update has finished.

Once the update is complete, the brain name and icon will now show green in the app. The Update option will now be unavailable since the brain is now up to date.
