Using the Brain allows you to bring the VEX GO system to life by programming Motors and Sensors with VEXcode GO.


Connect a Battery to the Brain

GO Brain Battery

The Brain will not work without a Battery.

First, ensure that the Battery is charged.

Next, locate the orange Battery Port on the Brain.

Connect the Battery to the Brain by inserting the orange Battery Cable into the orange Battery Port on the Brain.

Ensure that the orange Battery Cable is fully inserted into the orange Battery Port on the Brain. A ‘click’ sound will ensure that the cable is seated fully into the port.


Turn On the Brain

Once the Battery has been connected to the Brain, the Brain can now be turned on.

To turn on the Brain, press the clear button with an orange ring around it on top of the Brain.

The clear button will turn green when the Brain is powered on.


Turn Off the Brain

To turn off the Brain, hold the green button on top of the Brain for approximately three seconds.

Once the Brain is powered off, the button on top of the Brain will no longer be green.


Connect Motors and Sensors to the Brain

There are four Smart Ports at the top of the Brain where the LED Bumper, Electromagnet, and Motors are connected.

On the opposite side of the GO Brain are additional ports colored orange and blue-green. The orange Battery Port is for connecting the Battery as seen above.

The blue-green Eye Sensor Port is designated to connect the Eye Sensor.

Brain Motor

Connect the LED Bumper, Electromagnet, or Motors to the Brain by inserting the device cable into one of the four Smart Ports on the Brain.

Ensure that the device’s cable is fully inserted into the Smart Port on the Brain. A ‘click’ sound will ensure that the cable is seated fully into the Smart Port.

To remove a device from the Brain, press down on the release tab of the device’s cable and then gently remove the cable from the Smart Port.
