Accessing the V5 Brain Event Log

The Event Log on the V5 Brain can be used to help troubleshoot an issue by checking useful diagnostics information. The Event Log will include information such as project execution, project download, or project stop actions. The Event Log will also log hardware events such as the V5 Controller losing link to the V5 Brain, a Smart Device being disconnected, and also any battery notifications as well.

Brain screen is shown in the Home menu with the Devices option highlighted.

To access the Event Log, first turn on the V5 Brain by pressing and holding the power button. Once the V5 Brain has turned on, select the Devices menu.

Brain screen is shown in the Device Info menu which has a list of all of the Brain's Smart Ports and connected devices. The Brain icon in the Device Info menu is highlighted to indicate that itcan be selected to open its information menu.

Once in the Devices Info screen, you can select the Brain Icon:

And once the information page for the Brain appears, select "VIEW" under the "Event Log" heading:

Brain screen is shown in the Event Log menu that lists events, such as the Brain being powered on or each time a Program is run or stopped. Each event in the Event Log has a corresponding time stamp to help with troubleshooting. There are also arrow buttons so the user can scroll through the Event Log history.

The Event Log will now be shown. Each event log item will be listed with a timestamp - the time stamp is the amount of time that has elapsed since the V5 Brain has been powered on. You can use the arrows on the right side of the screen to scroll through the Event Log messages.
