Wirelessly Downloading a Project in VEXcode Pro V5

The VEX Visual Studio Code Extension has replaced VEXcode Pro V5, which is now end-of-life.

VEXcode Blocks and VEXcode Text remain actively developed and supported for all VEX platforms.

Wirelessly connect the V5 Controller to the Brain or via a Smart Cable.

NOTE: The Controller must be connected to the Brain throughout the entire wireless download process. You can confirm that your controller is connected by looking at your Brain’s screen. You will see a controller and a signal icon at the top right of the screen.

When you have your controller connected to the brain, open VEXcode Pro V5.

Connect the Controller to the computer via a USB cable. The Controller must be connected to the computer via a USB cable throughout the entire wireless download process.

Check that the Controller is connected properly. This is indicated by the Controller icon being green.

Save the project and then choose which of the Brain’s slots to download to.

Check that the Brain icon is green and the Download and other icons are gray.

Select Download to the project to the Brain’s selected slot.

NOTE: The Download, Run, and Stop icons will turn briefly gray until the download is complete. Downloads done wirelessly take slightly longer than wired downloads.

Finally, run the project on the Brain.

You can also run the project from the toolbar.

NOTE: The project must already be downloaded before you can run the project from the toolbar.
