Allowing Camera Permissions for the AI Vision Sensor on Windows in App-based VEXcode AIM

When configuring the AI Vision Sensor in App-based VEXcode AIM, your computer may already have permissions that block applications from accessing your cameras. Follow the steps below to learn where to navigate in your Windows computer to ensure camera permissions are enabled for your sensor.

The start menu on a Windows desktop, with the gear shaped Settings icon highlighted on the lefthand side.

On your Desktop, select the Windows icon or press the Windows key on your keyboard.

Select the Settings icon from the Start Menu.

A menu of settings options are shown, and the Privacy option is highlighted.

All of your Window settings will be displayed.

Select Privacy.

The privacy settings are listed, and Camera is highlighted in the App permissions section.

On the left navigation bar, scroll until you see the App permissions section.

Select Camera.

A prompt reads Allow apps to access your camera. If you allow access, you can choose which apps can access your camera by using the settings on this page. Denying access blocks apps from accessing your camera. The toggle switch below is toggled to on.

Scroll down until you see Allow apps to access your camera. Make sure that this is toggled On.

A prompt reads All desktop apps to access your camera. Some apps and Windows features need to access your camera to work as intended. Turning off this setting here might limit what desktop apps and Windows can do. The toggle switch below is toggled to on.
