Uploading Custom Sounds in VEXcode AIM

The VEX AIM Robot allows for up to ten custom sounds to be used in a project. This article will walk you through where and how to upload and use custom sounds in VEXcode AIM.

Using the Control Panel to Upload Custom Sounds

First, open the Control Panel by selecting the Gear icon.

Select the Sounds tab.

Select the Upload icon for the desired slot.

The Sound Selector will appear. Choose any preloaded sound before selecting Send to Robot to add that sound to the robot's available sounds.

You can also select the Play button hear a preview of what a sound is.

By scrolling to the bottom of the Sound Selector, you can also choose Upload Custom Sound. Use the Select File button to open your device's file navigation.

Navigate through your device's file menu and select your custom sound.

Note: Sound files must be MP3s, no larger than 50KB, and no longer than 10 seconds.

The sound will be uploaded and will appear in the chosen slot. Note the slot numbers to the left of the Upload icon. This information is needed when using the sound file in a project.

Playing a Sound File

After uploading the sound file, two additional options will become available to play the sound.

To hear the sound played on your device, select the Computer icon.

To hear the sound played on the connected AIM Robot, select the AIM Robot icon.

Deleting a Sound File

The button to the far right shows a trashcan icon and is highlighted.

To delete a sound from the Control Panel, select the Trash icon.

To delete all sounds, select the Delete All Sounds option at the bottom of the Sounds tab.
