Connecting a V5 Controller to Virtual Driving Skills

VEX V5 Robotics Competition (V5RC) Virtual Driving Skills Practice allows you to connect a VEX V5 Controller to your computer and complete practice Driving Skills matches. This article walks through how to connect your Controller to V5RC Virtual Driving Skills.


Connect to a V5 Controller

Be sure your Controller is powered off. The screen on the Controller should appear blank as shown in this image.

Connect the Controller to your computer using a micro-USB cable.

The screen on the Controller will show a charging indicator as shown in this image.

If the screen appears backlit and you can see the Home menu, turn off the Controller with the Power button.

Press any button on the Controller except the Power button to connect.

Your VEX V5 Controller will now be connected to Virtual Driver Skills. The Controller Status will turn green and say Connected.


Keep your Controller powered off while using Virtual Driver Skills.
