Allow Camera Permissions for AI Vision Sensor on Windows in App-based VEXcode EXP

When connecting the AI Vision Sensor to App-based VEXcode EXP, your computer may already have permissions that block applications from accessing your cameras. Follow the steps below to learn where to navigate in your Windows computer to ensure camera permissions are enabled for your AI Vision Sensor.

On your Desktop, select the Windows icon or press the Windows key on your keyboard.

Select the gear icon from the Start Menu.

Select Privacy.

On the left navigation bar, scroll until you see the App permissions section.

Select Camera.

If you allow access, you can choose which apps can access your camera by using the settings on this page. Denying access blocks apps from accessing your camera. It does not block Windows Hello.

Scroll down until you see Allow apps to access your camera. Make sure that this is toggled On.

Some apps and Windows features need to access your camera to work as intended. Turning off this setting here might limit what desktop apps and Windows can do.

Scroll down until you see Allow desktop apps to access your camera. Make sure that this is toggled On.

AI Vision Utility is opened in VEXcode EXP. The AI Vision Sensor's video feed is shown and working. Above, a green Connected status is highlighted to indicate that the connection is successful.

The AI Vision Sensor's camera view will now be visible in the AI Vision Utility.
