Updating the AI Vision Sensor's Firmware in VEXcode EXP – VEX Library

Keeping the AI Vision Sensor's firmware up to date is important for its best performance and compatibility with VEXcode EXP. Follow the steps below to update your AI Vision Sensor's firmware.

AI Vision Utility is opened in VEXcode EXP. The AI Vision Sensor's current view is shown and highlighted. Above, a green Connected status is highlighted as well to indicate that the connection is successful.

1. To check if your AI Vision Sensor’s firmware is up to date, first connect it to VEXcode and open the AI Vision Utility. Once the AI Vision Sensor is successfully connected to VEXcode, the AI Vision Sensor's current view will be displayed.

2. Below the AI Vision Sensor’s screen, there is a button that will say New Update Available.

Select the button to start the firmware update.

3. Wait for the progress bar to fill.

4. Once installation is complete, you will be prompted to disconnect both the USB-C cable and the Smart Cable from the AI Vision Sensor, then select Ok.

5. Reconnect the cables to the AI Vision Sensor.

6. Reopen the AI Vision Utility in VEXcode. The button at the bottom of the AI Vision Utility will now say Firmware is Up to Date.

Your AI Vision Sensor's firmware has been successfully updated. You can now proceed to configure the AI Vision Sensor's Color Signatures.
