Connecting with App-based VEXcode EXP - macOS

It takes just a few steps to connect a VEX EXP Brain to app-based VEXcode EXP on a macOS device.

To Connect a VEX EXP Brain

Be sure the EXP Battery is charged and is connected to the EXP Brain.

Turn on the Brain by pressing the Power button on the Brain.

Launch app-based VEXcode EXP.

Connect the EXP Brain to your macOS device, using the USB-C cable.

Your EXP Brain will then connect to app-based VEXcode EXP. The Brain icon in the Toolbar will show green to indicate the Brain is connected, and the 'Download', 'Run', and 'Stop' buttons will be available.

You must keep the Brain plugged into your device to maintain the connection, in order to do things like download a project to the Brain.


To Disconnect a VEX EXP Brain

Brain that was connected to a laptop computer using a USB cable. Now, the USB cable has been unplugged from the Brain.

To disconnect your device from an EXP Brain, unplug the USB-C cable from your macOS device or the EXP Brain.

You can also disconnect an EXP Brain from app-based VEXcode EXP by turning the Brain off.

Turn the Brain off by holding the X button until the screen on the Brain goes black.

Upon disconnecting, the Brain icon in the Toolbar will show as white, and the 'Download', 'Run', and 'Stop' buttons will be unavailable.
